Softball Travels to Robert Morris Tuesday for League Pair

HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Purdue University Calumet softball team will travel to Bensenville, Ill., to take on league foe Robert Morris University for a doubleheader Tuesday evening.

The Peregrines (22-18, 12-8  Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) will take on the Eagles (7-33, 1-17) beginning at 4 p.m. (CT) at Liberty Field. Liberty Field is located in the Redmond Athletic Complex, 735 E. Jefferson, Bensenville, Ill.

Purdue Calumet is coming off a split at league contender Judson, falling in Game 1, 4-3, before rebounding with a 1-0 shutout win in the nightcap. Senior Alison Kimble (Greenup, Ill./Cumberland) pitched a seven-inning, one-hit gem in Game 2 and helped her cause at the plate, connected on the game-winning RBI single in the fitfth inning.

The Eagles are riding a 13-game losing streak entering Tuesday's games, the latest a 8-0 loss to Lake Forest. RMU's lone league win came against Purdue North Central in a 8-7 victory April 7. Emily Gerhardt leads the Eagles with a .364 batting average and teammate Joey Crockett a .309 average and 25 RBI.

The Eagles own a 1-0 all-time lead vs the Peregrines, as RMU defeated Purdue Calumet 4-3 last season.
