#16 Women's Basketball Travels to Holy Cross for CCAC Tilt Thursday

HAMMOND, Ind. -- The No. 16 Purdue University Calumet women's basketball team looks to rebound as the Peregrines travel to Notre Dame, Ind., to take on the Holy Cross College Saints Thursday.

The Peregrines (12-4, 5-3 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) will take on the Saints (6-12, 3-4 CCAC) at the Pfeil Center starting at 4:30 p.m. CT.

LAST TIME OUT
The No. 16 Purdue University Calumet women’s basketball is coming off a hard-fought loss to No. 7 St. Francis (Ill.) Jan. 5, 76-60. Senior center Patrice McBee (Culver, Ind./Culver Community) scored 14 points to become the 19th Peregrine to reach 1,000 points in the setback. Jada Buggs (Elkhart, Ind./Elkart Memorial) recorded her first double-double of the season, scoring 17 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Junior Cassidy Deno (Otterbein, Ind./Benton Central) added 13 points and sophomore Katie Wampler (Scottsburg, Ind./Scottsburg) had eight points and a game-best 13 boards.

SCOUTING THE SAINTS
The Saints are 6-12 so far this season along with 3-4 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. HCC is coming off a 76-72 victory against winless Trinity Christian College, Jan. 5. HCC is led by Tagin Schultheis, who averages 12.6 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY
The Peregrines are 12-0 all-time versus the Saints, including a sweep in 2014-15, The Peregrines won 68-59 at home and won 73-59 in Norte Dame. Head Coach Tom Megyesi is 12-0 in his career against Holy Cross as Megyesi has coached every meeting between the two teams.

PEREGRINE LEADERS
Five players average double-figure scoring for No. 16 Purdue Calumet, which is pumping in 73.9 points per game. Junior Cassidy Deno (16.1 ppg) leads the way, bolstered by senior Jada Buggs (13.4 ppg), junior Darien Thompson (12.3 ppg), junior Dariyan Morris (11.5 ppg) and sophomore Katie Wampler (10.6 ppg).
