Purdue Northwest Men’s Volleyball Adds Two New Players For First Season

HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. – Purdue University Northwest head coach Cory Sackett is wasting no time building his new club men’s volleyball program with the recent additions of Cole Lusinger and Bryce Marek.  Lusinger is a middle blocker, while Marek plays at the libero position.  Both hail from Joliet Central High School in Joliet, Ill.

The pair also play for UNO Volleyball Club and were both part of the Boy’s Junior National Championships as part of the club circuit.  The Boy’s Junior National Championships is the final and toughest tournament of the season as it only includes the top ranked teams.

Lusinger is a two-year varsity captain at Joliet Central and leads the team in blocks.  Marek led the Steelmen in digs and helped the squad to its first regional title in the past 10 years last season.

“I am excited about the addition of Bryce and Cole as both come from an experienced volleyball background and will help lead the Pride in our first season,” said Sackett.  “Cole will be a dominant force for us at the middle blocker position and is a very versatile attacker and a natural leader.  Bryce brings a ton of experience to the line-up in the libero role and will step in nice to lead the backcourt for PNW.”
