HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. – Adding two more players to its first roster, the new Purdue University Northwest club men’s volleyball team, under the direction of head coach Cory Sackett, continues to grow for the 2018-19 academic year with the recent commitments of Jordan McDonnell and Eric Krumm. McDonnell is an outside hitter from Joliet West High School in Joliet, Ill., while Krumm played at the middle blocker position for Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis, Ind.
McDonnell was also a member of the UNO Volleyball Club team and will be attending the USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championships in Phoenix, Ariz., in early July. The Boy’s Junior National Championships is the final and toughest tournament of the season as it only includes the top ranked teams. At Joliet West, he was a four-year player and finished second on the team in kills this past season.
Krumm played for The Academy Volleyball Club team in addition to his four years playing at Cardinal Ritter. He plans to pursue a degree in engineering at PNW starting next fall.
“I’m thrilled to add two more players to this first class for the Purdue Northwest men’s volleyball program,” said Sackett. “Jordan is a very experienced outside hitter and will be a great player to help take the Pride in the right direction. He has a lot of athleticism and will be a consistent attacker for us.
“Eric will be a great blocker in the middle for our program,” continued Sackett. “He brings size to our roster and will be a great academic representative for us with his focus in engineering.”
