HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. – The Purdue University Northwest athletic department will host the sixth annual Late Night Madness event Thursday, October 18th from the Hammond Fitness and Recreation Center to kick off a new season of Pride Basketball.
The free event will start at 9 p.m. (CST) inside the FRC gymnasium. Participants are encouraged to arrive early, as the first 500 through the door will receive an exclusive Late Night Madness t-shirt.
Free food and beverages (while supplies last) from Corporate Champions Chick-Fil-A of Merrillville, Jimmy Johns, Culvers, Buffalo Wild Wings, Wendy’s, Chartwells, Domino’s and Pepsi will be available.
The event will be introducing Purdue Northwest men’s and women’s basketball, led by head coaches Boomer Roberts and Tom Megyesi. Teams will be introduced and compete amongst each other in a dunk contest and three-point shootout. The PNW cheer and dance teams will be also be performing as well as Leo the Lion.
Those attending, however, are encouraged to participate in an array of other activities and games, including a dance contest, tug-of-war, and more, with chances to win prizes. A Beats by Dre headphones, a Playstation 4 and NBA 2K19, a 4K television, a pair of Chicago Bulls tickets and more will be up for grabs throughout the night in various contests.
The men’s basketball team will open up their 2018-19 schedule Friday, Nov. 9th at the Cross Conference Classic against Rockhurst University at the GLIAC/GLVC challenge in Liberty, Missouri. The women’s team will kick off their season Friday, November 9th with the first game of the PNW Cross Conference Classic at the Dworkin Student Services and Activities Center on the Westville campus.
