Pride to Host Moody Bible in Hammond Tuesday

HAMMOND, Ind. -- After opening up GLIAC conference play over the weekend, Purdue Northwest will host Moody Bible in a non-conference matchup Tuesday night at the Fitness and Recreation Center in Hammond. Tip-off is at 7 pm (CST) from John Friend Court.



PNW dropped its second consecutive conference game in a 79-62 defeat against Grand Valley State Saturday on Kid's Day...The loss brought the Pride's overall record to 2-5 on the season and 0-2 in GLIAC play...Tim Gilmore had 14 points and knocked down four triples, while Durante Lee once again showed his efficiency around the basket with 12 points on 5-8 shooting...The Black and Gold pulled within four points on a Lee and-one with 16 minutes to play, but Purdue Northwest never recovered...PNW got 21 points from its reserves, but were a -22 in rebounding margin and surrendered 22 second-chance points.


The Pride have knocked down 66 3-pointers this season, third-best in the GLIAC...Dean Tate is fifth-best among conference players with 2.7 3-point shots made per game.


The Black and Gold are led offensively by a balanced attack, as three players average double-figure point totals, with the freshman Dean Tate putting up 14.7 PPG...Lee (12.4 PPG) and Gilmore (11.4 PPG) are the other two top scorers...Rich Robertson and Anthony Barnard are just behind the trio as they each score 9.3 points per game.


The Archers have yet to win a game in 2018-19, as they enter Tuesday with an 0-7 record.

MBI is coming off a 107-49 loss to Great Lakes Christian on Saturday on the road.

Moody Bible is scoring an average of 51.3 PPG and allowing 79.2 PPG...The Archers shoot 33.7% from the field and connect on five 3-pointers per game

MBI is led by Trey Haidle, who scores 14.9 PPG and 5.7 rebounds per game...Keynan Carter is second on the team with 9.0 PPG and leads the Archers with 3.5 assists per game.


Tuesday will mark the first-ever meeting between these two programs since Purdue Northwest was created before the 2016-17 season.
