HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest men's basketball team will continue Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play Saturday, Jan. 5 in a trip to Midland, Mich. to meet the Northwood Timberwolves. Game time is set for 2 p.m. CT.
PNW (4-9) returns to the court following a 75-67 setback in Westville against Saginaw Valley State Thursday night. Darnell Hoskins Jr. scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Cardinals, who earned their first GLIAC win of the season.
Senior Chandler Spring (Covington, Ind./Covington) scored a team-high 19 points against Saginaw Valley, as he notched his third double-digit scoring performance of the season.
Junior Durante Lee (Gary, Ind./IU Kokomo) has been the conference leader for the duration of the season in field goal percentage, as he continues to shoot 69.6%.
Northwood enters Saturday's game with a 6-7 overall record, but are a perfect 4-0 at home this season. Three players score in double figures for the Timberwolves, led by 13.9 points per game from Alec Marty; Trey McBride adds 13.0 points per contest, and Ja'Kavien Lewis chips in 12.6 points per game. Northwood has been a careful offensive unit, as they have the third-fewest turnovers in the conference this season.
Following Saturday's game, the Pride will return to Hammond to face the Wayne State Warriors Thursday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. CT.
