Zafiro Latest Addition To Men's Ice Hockey

HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. -- Purdue University Northwest Men's Club Ice Hockey Head Coach Kevin Cole has announced another name to his 2019-20 recruiting class with the addition of Zander Zafiro to the program.

Zafiro comes from Morris Community High School where he was a letter-winner for the Redskins. The goaltender was also part of the Dells Ducks club team in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin in the USPHL Premier League.

The goalie transfers from Trine University where he owned a .906 save percentage. Zafiro plans to major in electrical engineering.

"Zander was an instrumental part of the Trine program last year. He was a key player in us winning and keeping us in games all season," Cole said. "He will be a great addition to the inaugural team at PNW."

PNW is set to begin their first season as an ACHA Division II affiliate member this upcoming fall.
