Purdue University Northwest currently sponsors 13 sports; baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and women’s volleyball. The sports information office is responsible for the coverage of Purdue Northwest Athletics as well as its coaches and student-athletes, and has offices located in the Fitness and Recreation Center on the Calumet Campus and the James B. Dworkin Student Services & Activites Complex on the North Central Campus.
All requests for broadcast and media credentials should be directed to Jon Newcomb by calling 219-989-2506. Requests should be made at least two days prior to the contest.
Game programs, lineups and pre-game notes will be provided at each contest as well as halftime box scores, final statistics and play-by-play. A spot on press row along with a phone line will be provided for all radio broadcasts with proper notice.
Wireless internet is available in the Fitness and Recreation Center and the James B. Dworkin Center and does not require a special password.
All requests for interviews with Purdue Northwest student-athletes, coaches, and administrative staff must be coordinated with the sports information office and can be done in-person, by phone, or email. Student-athletes should not be contacted directly.
On game days, student-athletes will not be available for interviews until post-game. Interviews may be granted after the game after a short cooling-off period. Members of the media wishing to speak to a player or coach should notify a member of the PNW sports information staff prior to the end of the contest. All locker rooms are closed to the media.
On non-game days, in-person interviews must be requested through the sports information department at least 24 hours in advance. All interviews are prohibited from conflicting with classes, practice sessions, meetings or medical treatments. A student-athlete’s phone number and e-mail address will not be released unless that student-athlete gives permission. The sports information office will do its best to provide an interview time that is mutually convenient for both the player/coach and the media representative.
Members of the PNW sports information department may choose to be present for student-athlete, coach and administrator in-person and phone interviews.
