HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. – The Purdue University Northwest baseball team will host NCAA Division II Saint Joseph’s College for one-nine inning game Wednesday afternoon.
The Pride (20-14) will take on the Pumas (24-13) starting at 3 p.m. (CT) at Albert's Diamond Jeweler's Field at Dowling Park.
LAST TIME OUT
The Purdue University Northwest baseball team is coming off a doubleheader sweep over Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent St. Xavier Tuesday afternoon, defeating the Cougars in a pair of one-run games, 5-4 and 9-8.
Larry Crisler (Gary, Ind./Bishop Noll) led the Pride offensively going 6-for-8 at the plate with 2 RBI and four runs scored.
Jonny Albers (Waterloo, Ind./Waterloo) stayed hot at the plate going 3-for-6 on the day while Austin Kordik (West Chicago, Ill./West Chicago) finished the day with a pair of hits, three runs scored and one RBI. Matt Sandoval (Highland, Ind./Highland) and Jimmy Skiff (Dyer, Ind./Andrean) each picked up wins and senior Brody Kutch (La Porte, Ind./La Porte) captured a pair of saves with solid ninth-inning relief.
SCOUTING THE PUMAS
SJC is coming off a doubleheader split against Lewis University on April 15, The Pumas won the first game 14-7 and dropped the second game 23-11.
Riley Benner headlines the offense for the Pumas, leading the squad with a .408 batting average, 35 runs scored, 10 home runs and 38 RBI.
Tasker Strobel ranks first on the pitching staff for SJC with a 4-2 record, 2.81 ERA and 41 strikeouts on the season.
SJC leads the all-time series against PNW, 1-0, with SJC winning 3-2 in Rensselaer, Ind. on April 11.

Fifth Third Bank field is located just east of Kennedy Avenue and north of Interstate 90/94, off J.F. Mahoney Drive, just west of the Jean Shephard Community Center located at 3031 J.F. Mahoney Dr, Hammond, IN 46323. Fans are asked to park in the main Dowling Park parking lot, located off 175th Street, behind Faith United Church of Christ (3030 175th Street). The lot is also available from J.F. Mahoney Drive, via a drive between the softball field outfield and Jean Shephard Community Center.
Handicap parking is available.
Visiting team buses are asked to park in the Hammond F.OP. parking lot, located at 7527 Kennedy Ave, and drivers and teams may enter the park from the North Gate, located near the baseball stadium's left field line.
NOTE: Parking is prohibited along 175th Street or in the Jean Shephard Center lots. Officials/Referee Parking is located in the North Lot.
NOTE: Animals are NOT allowed anywhere at Dowling Park.
Admission is $6 for adults (18 and up) and $4 for children (ages 4-17) each day. PNW students with valid ID are free. Cash only accepted at the ticket window.

Season ticket packages start at, $25 for kids, $40 for adults and $45 for family adult passes. General admission to all home Purdue Northwest softball and baseball games is $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-17. Children 3 and under are free.
All PNW students with valid ID are also free, cash only please.
