HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest baseball team will host Saint Xavier University in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon.
The Pride (18-14, 11-6 CCAC) will take on the Cougars (21-21, 12-5 CCAC) starting at 2 p.m. (CT) at Dowling Park.
LAST TIME OUT
The Purdue University Northwest baseball team used a high-powered comeback effort to defeat IU South Bend, 11-10, in Game 1, before dropping the nightcap 16-15 to the Titans.
The Pride connected on four home runs on the day, including 13 extra base hits to combine for 26 total runs on the day.
Freshmen Tyler Kenjic (Hobart, Ind./Hobart), Jono Bigger (Roselawn, Ind./North Newton) and junior Jonny Albers (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) all connected on their first career home runs, with Alec Skalka (Munster, Ind./Munster) earning his second career homer, his first being of inside the park fashion during the fall season.
Bigger, Kenjic, Austin Kordik (West Chicagon, Ill./West Chicago) and Larry Crisler (Gary, Ind./Bishop Noll) all led the Pride with four hits on the day, with Kenjic recording seven RBI total.
The Pride are led at the plate by Larry Crisler, who is hitting .345, 38 hits, two home runs, 22 RBI. On the mound, PNW is led by Matt Sandoval, who ranks first in the NAIA with a 0.83 ERA. Sandoval owns a 6-1 record with two saves and 47 strikeouts in 43.1 innings pitched.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
Matt Monahan leads the offense for SXU with a team-best .378 batting average, 32 RBI and 37 runs scored. On the mound, the Cougars are led by Tyler Hebel, who owns a 2.21 ERA through 53.0 innings pitched with 33 strikeouts on the season.
With the merger of the Purdue Calumet and Purdue North Central athletic programs, this will be the first meeting with the newly formed Purdue Northwest baseball team and Saint Xavier.

Fifth Third Bank field is located just east of Kennedy Avenue and north of Interstate 90/94, off J.F. Mahoney Drive, just west of the Jean Shephard Community Center located at 3031 J.F. Mahoney Dr, Hammond, IN 46323. Fans are asked to park in the main Dowling Park parking lot, located off 175th Street, behind Faith United Church of Christ (3030 175th Street). The lot is also available from J.F. Mahoney Drive, via a drive between the softball field outfield and Jean Shephard Community Center.
Handicap parking is available.
Visiting team buses are asked to park in the Hammond F.OP. parking lot, located at 7527 Kennedy Ave, and drivers and teams may enter the park from the North Gate, located near the baseball stadium's left field line.
NOTE: Parking is prohibited along 175th Street or in the Jean Shephard Center lots. Officials/Referee Parking is located in the North Lot.
NOTE: Animals are NOT allowed anywhere at Dowling Park.

Season ticket packages start at, $25 for kids, $40 for adults and $45 for family adult passes. General admission to all home Purdue Northwest softball and baseball games is $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-17. Children 3 and under are free.
All PNW students with valid ID are also free, cash only please.
