Graegin Academic Center

The Paul K. & Barbara Graegin Academic Excellence Center is a state-of-the-art learning space for Purdue Northwest student-athletes. The space features 12 computers, including two Apple iMac desktop stations, a printer, as well as a 70-inch television screen used for presentations and more.

The room also has four, five-top round tables for study use as well as one-of-a-kind Pride leather office chairs.

The Academic Excellence Center is located in the Fitness and Recreation Center, just steps from Pride athletics' staff and coaches' offices and the gymnasium.

The center was generously funded by Barbara and the late Paul Graegin, who passed away in October 2011. Paul was a Hammond native, Purdue University graduate and avid supporter of Purdue Athletics. He served in the U.S. Army for two years before joining his father Cecil’s company, Correct Piping, Inc., a company which he later took over and renamed Correct Construction, Inc.

In the 1990s, he founded Solid Platforms, Inc., Interstate Environment Services, Interstate Insulation, Inc., and Correct Fire Protection. The center was dedicated with a special plaque honoring the Graegins in June 2015.
