Purdue Northwest broke ground on its new outdoor athletics complex on December 9, 2013. The complex, a partnership with the City of Hammond that was completed in Fall 2015 (located just north of I80-94 on Kennedy Avenue), provides a comprehensive outdoor sports complex for both Pride Athletics and the Hammond’s Parks and Recreation Department. The new athletic facility houses the playing fields for the Black and Gold’s baseball, men’s & women’s soccer, softball and men’s & women’s tennis programs.
Phase 1, which features fully finished baseball, softball, and soccer fields, was completed in March 2015 and hosted the Pride's 2015 baseball and softball home seasons. Phase 2, which includes the complex seating, center building with restrooms, locker rooms, a training room, and storage, along with tennis courts, parking lot and walk way was completed in Fall 2015.
Note: Visitors are not allowed to bring dogs inside Dowling Park.
