HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest men's basketball team hosts Grand Valley State in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) game at John Friend Court in Hammond on Saturday, December 16.
The Lakers (3-7, 0-4 GLIAC) take on the Pride (0-9, 0-4 GLIAC) at John Friend Court inside the Fitness & Recreation Center Saturday starting at 3 p.m. CT.
LAST TIME OUT
Senior Tyree Coe (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) drained a game-high six three-pointers and finished with 23 points, but the Purdue Northwest men’s basketball team could not hang on to its late 63-61 lead and fell 75-66 to GLIAC foe Michigan Tech last Saturday afternoon at H.D. Kesling Gymnasium in the James B. Dworkin Complex in Westville, Ind. Senior Torrance Johnson (Chicago Heights, Ill./Chicago Hope Academy) also had a nice performance for the Pride with a double-double effort of 16 points and game-leading 10 rebounds.
Junior Chris Nunn (Anderson, Ind./Liberty Christian) finished the game with 14 points and six rebounds for PNW shooting 6-for-10 from the floor.
SCOUTING THE LAKERS
GVSU is coming off a 71-68 loss to Northern Michigan on Dec. 9. The Lakers are led by sophomore Hunter Hale, who averages 13.1 points per game.
Saturday marks the first-ever meeting between Grand Valley State and Purdue Northwest.
