Purdue Northwest Men's Basketball Hosts Pair of GLIAC Games

HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest men's basketball team hosts the Tiffin (Ohio) Dragons on Thursday and Ashland (Ohio) Eagles Saturday for a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) games.

The Dragons (7-17, 3-13 GLIAC) take on the Pride (1-23, 1-15 GLIAC) at H.D. Kesling Gymnasium at the James B. Dworkin Student Services & Activities Complex in Westville, Ind., starting at 7 p.m. CT Thursday following the women's game.

The Eagles (16-8, 9-7 GLIAC) match up with the Pride at John Friend Court inside the Fitness & Recreation Center in Hammond, Ind., starting at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday.  Prior to the game, the Pride will recognize their three seniors, Caleb Brannon (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon), Tyree Coe (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) and Torrance Johnson (Chicago Heights, Ill./Chicago Hope Academy) in honor of Senior Day.

LAST TIME OUT
Senior Torrance Johnson posted games-bests of 23 points and 10 rebounds, but the Purdue Northwest men’s basketball team suffered a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) road loss to Wayne State University (Mich.), 79-61, last Sunday afternoon at the Matthaei Center in Detroit, Mich. Freshman Richard Robertson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Fort Wayne Northrup) had a solid outing as well for the Pride scoring 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the floor. Junior Chris Nunn (Anderson, Ind./Liberty Christian) contributed eight points, six assists and four steals.

SCOUTING THE DRAGONS
Tiffin is coming off a 80-76 loss against Lake Superior State (Mich.) on Feb. 10. The Dragons have two players, who average double figures in scoring led by junior guard Austin Adams, who averages 14.2 points per contest.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Ashland is coming off a 97-91 overtime loss against Ferris State (Mich.). The Eagles are led by senior forward Wendell Davis, who averages 21.1 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY VS DRAGONS
The Dragons lead the series 1-0 after defeating the Pride, 61-58, back on Jan. 11 at the Gilmor Student Center in Tiffin, Ohio. The Pride were led by senior Torrance Johnson with 17 points and seven rebounds.

SERIES HISTORY VS EAGLES
Ashland leads the all-time series, 1-0, when the Eagles defeated the Pride on Jan. 13, 78-66. Franklin Nunn (Anderson, Ind./Liberty Christian) led the Pride with 23 points.
