GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Freshman Michael Crook (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) broke the school record for the 8K race with his run at the Gainey Athletics Complex for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Crook ran a 25:55.3 which landed him in 20th place for the event.
PNW came in ninth place in the 11 team event and finished with 219 points.
"It was not the placing we hoped for today but I am thrilled to see the progress these guys have made," head coach Austin Warner said. "Three different underclassmen set Sal Cordova's previous school record this year which shows we are quickly developing in to a competitive D2 program."
"The men were ranked dead last in the preseason ranking and being able to beat a few teams on an off day shows we are heading in the right direction. We are returning our entire top 9 next year which shows a lot of promise for 2019."
