HAMMOND, Ind. - Bird's Eye View returns to for the 2012-13 season, as Purdue Calumet Athletics opens up the new campaign with Juan Lopez, a freshman midfielder on the Peregrines' men’s soccer team. The business management major is also a former member of the Houston Dynamo Academy. Stay tuned to for new Bird's Eye View features every two weeks.

1.  When did you start competing in soccer?
When I was 10-years old.

2.  What has been the highlight of your athletic career so far?
Playing for the Dynamo Reserves at BBVA Compass Stadium against rival FC Dallas. I got to play 45 minutes.

3.  What are your goals for this upcoming season?
Be a better soccer player.

4.  Who is your funniest teammate?
Coach Beto Reyes.

5.  Do you have any nicknames?

6.  Who is your biggest hero?
My mom and dad.

7.  Do you have any superstitions?
I pray to God.

8.  What is the top song on your iPod?
"Word Hard, Play Hard" by Wiz Khalifa.

9.  Who was your favorite player growing up?

10.  Best movie you’ve seen recently?
Project X.

11.  If you are on a road trip and stop at a gas station, what snacks do you buy?
Sour gummy worms, chips, gum and a chocolate bar.

Pepperoni and sausage.

Jeff Cameron.

Neither, Ronaldinho.

Hanging out with friends.

Having a good season.

I like Mexican food.

It has opened many doors to succeed in life.
