PNW Athletics will be back in action this week with nine competitions spread out through the week of September 9 through September 15!
PNW @ Illinois-Springfield
The Pride will start off the week on the road, taking on Illinois-Springfield. PNW will be coming off their home opener where they took on the Truman State Bulldogs on Saturday, September 7. After a hard-fought game, the Pride ultimately fell in a 2-1 defeat. Looking to bounce back, the Pride will take on the Prairie Stars, sporting an 0-1 record. UIS will be coming back from September 7 match against Tiffin University where they lost 0-3.
PNW vs. Quincy
PNW will then return to their home field on Thursday, September 12 to take on Quincy University. Quincy Men’s soccer sport a 1-1 record and will be coming back from a September 8th matchup against Northern Michigan University where they claimed a 6-2 victory.
PNW @ Lewis University
PNW Women’s Soccer will return to action after their September 7 home opener where they fell in a 4-1 matchup against the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds. Putting up a good fight through the first half, the Pride were unable to hold onto their momentum. Lewis will come into the competition with a record of 1-1, coming off a September 8 win against Tiffin University with a score of 4-3.
PNW vs. Robert Morris
The Pride will then return to Dowling Park on Saturday, September 14 when they will face off against Robert Morris. The Eagles will bring in a 2-1-1 record after beating William Penn 6-1 on September 7.
PNW @ Parkside Crossover
The Pride will take the court on Friday, September 13 for the Parkside Classic in Kenosha, Wisc. PNW is coming off a pair of wins against Calumet College of Saint Joseph’s and Governors State. The Pride will face off against Upper Iowa, McKendree, Quincy, and Winona State during the two-day competition. The first match is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. against Upper Iowa.
PNW vs. Wayne State
PNW will kick their competition-filled weekend off at Dowling Park on Saturday, September 14 beginning at 10 a.m. The Pride’s record stands at 1-1, defeating Judson University followed by a dropped match against Tiffin. The Wayne State Warriors will be opening their 2019-2020 season against the Pride.
PNW vs. Ashland
The Pride will face off with the Ashland Eagles on Sunday, September 15. The Eagles will head to Hammond after facing off with Davenport on September 14th.
Auto Owners Spartan Invitational
The Pride will return to action after a success outing on Friday, September 6 at the PNW Classic. Hosted at the Westville campus, the Pride stepped off the course with team victories for both the men’s and women’s programs. Freshman Hailey Janssen came across the like both as the top overall finisher and with a new PNW school record of 22:23.5 for the 6k. Sophomore Antonio Chapa likewise broke a school record, beating his own accomplishment from last year and setting a new 8k record time of 25:48.2.
SVSU Fall Invitational
The Pride will return to action on Saturday, September 14 when they travel to Saginaw, Mich. for the SVSU Fall Invitational. They will be returning from last weekend's Taylor University Players Club Invitational where PNW Women's Tennis program took 4th place with a team score of 690. Libby Huston (Yale, Mich./Yale) led the team against Taylor with a personal score of 162, tying her personal best and PNW's individual school record. The Pride will compete both days, teeing off Saturday at 10 a.m.
