SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- The Purdue Northwest Men’s Soccer team dropped a noon game to the UIS PrairieStars in Springfield on Monday, September 9. The Pride held the PrairieStars scoreless in the second half, but UIS scored three goals early in the match to win 3-0.
At the sixteenth minute, the PrairieStars put their first goal on the scoreboard against the Pride. Though the first half would surrender a total of three goals, the Pride rallied in the second to present a stronger defense. Raul Garrido-Garcia (Madrid, Spain/Menesiano) collected three saves during his ninety minutes in the net.
Coming off an away competition against Lewis University and their home opener against Truman, the Pride now look ahead to returning to Dowling Park for their second home event of the 2019 season.
The Pride will return to action against Quincy on Thursday, September 12th, before they travel north on Friday, September 20th for their first conference match of the season against Northern Michigan.
