HAMMOND, Ind. - The Purdue University Calumet men's tennis team will partner with the Lakeshore Tennis Association and the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association to host a United States Tennis Association Free Tennis Play Day at the Dowling Park tennis courts on Saturday, October 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kids, from ages 5 to 18, will have the opportunity to play tennis and participate in a variety of tennis skills activities. Parents are encouraged to come out and participate in the event, which will feature short courts, miniature nets, smaller racquets and foam balls for younger participants.
The USTA developed the Free Tennis Play Days to help celebrate Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play, as the major television network will suspend its programming for three hours on October 6 and encourage viewers to get outside and be active.
