CALEDONIA, Mich. – The Purdue University Northwest softball team fell to Davenport University in both games Tuesday afternoon. Dropping the first game, 4-2 before losing 3-2 in eight innings in the nightcap.
GAME 1: Davenport 4, PNW 2
After the Panthers went up 2-0 heading in to the fourth inning, PNW got a run back thanks to a sacrifice fly from Taylor Kotzo (Munster, Ind./Munster) who plated Kalyn Learnard (Fairmount, Ill./Catlin) after she doubled to start the inning.
Davenport would get that run back in the bottom of the inning, but the Pride would fight back in the sixth thanks to a solo homer from Madison Schultz (Lafayette, Ind./Faith Christian) to make it 3-2.
