SANDUSKY, Ohio. – Purdue Northwest softball concluded the 2019 season as they fell in a GLIAC Tournament Elimination game 3-0 to Saginaw Valley State. The Pride conclude the season with a 24-25 record, and finished 14-18 in conference play.
After a run in the second inning, SVSU added on for insurance a pair of runs on a single into left field from Aubree Mouthaan, making the score 3-0 Cardinals.
The game would go final with that score as the Pride offense was unable to come up with timely hitting and finished with just two hits against Jaclyn Groves, who struck out five while walking just four batters.
PNW has now appeared in each of its first two GLIAC Conference Tournament chances, becoming the second program at Purdue Northwest to achieve that feat. Head Coach Niki Stansell has now won 50 games in her first two seasons with the Pride, and will look to build on another strong season in 2020 with a tall task of replacing nine seniors.
