Purdue Northwest Women's Basketball Hosts Tiffin, No. 1 Ashland

HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest women's basketball team hosts a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponents with Tiffin (Ohio) coming to Westville on Thursday and No. 1 Ashland (Ohio) for Senior Day in Hammond on Saturday.

The Dragons (8-16, 4-12 GLIAC) take on the Pride (4-17, 3-13 GLIAC) at H.D. Kesling Gymnasium at the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex in Westville at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday.

The Eagles (24-0, 16-0 GLIAC) match up with the Pride at John Friend Court at the Fitness & Recreation Center in Hammond starting at 1 p.m. Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
PNW traveled to Detroit, Mich., last Sunday to face Wayne State, but fell short losing 73-51 to the Warriors. Freshman Lanie Allen (East Noble, Ind./East Noble) posted 13 points to lead the Pride. Freshman Taylor Vauters (Rockville, Ind./Riverton Parke) finished in double figures as well for Purdue Northwest scoring 11 points.  Senior Ellie Michalski (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) added seven points and game-high 12 rebounds.

SCOUTING THE DRAGONS
Tiffin is coming off a 53-52 win against Lake Superior State (Mich.) on Saturday, Feb 10. The Dragons are led by junior guard Allie Miller, who averages 15.4 points per contest. 

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Ashland is the No. 1 ranked NCAA Division II team in the country. The Eagles are coming off a 122-53 victory against Ferris State (Mich.). AU is led by senior Laina Snyder, who averages 19.5 points and pulls down 7.5 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORY VS TIFFIN
Tiffin leads the series, 2-0. In the last match-up back on Jan 11., the Pride fell in a 54-46 loss to the Dragons. Shae Rhonehouse (Fremont, Ind./Fremont) had 16 points, while Ellie Michalski finished with 17 rebounds.

SERIES HISTORY VS ASHLAND
Ashland leads the all-time series, 1-0, when the Eagles won on Jan. 13.  PNW fell 120-47 despite 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists by junior Michaela Kikendall (Morristown, Ind./Morristown).
