PORTSMOUTH, Ohio - The Purdue University Calumet women's soccer team suffered a 4-1 loss to Shawnee State on Sunday afternoon, dropping to 5-9 overall with the loss.
The Pergrines got on the board first, as Maxzine Rossler scored her 12th goal of the season in the 7th minute of the match. Purdue Calumet would hold the lead until the 39th minute, when Shawnee State scored the equalizer to send the two teams into the break with a 1-1 tie.
The Bears would put the match away with a trio of scores in the final stanza, despite posting just a 18-15 advantage in shots. Vanessa Hernandez topped PUC with four shots, while Rossler and Rachel Shmagranoff added three shots apiece. Rachel Madsen recorded seven saves, before falling to 3-6 on the season.
The Black and Gold will travel to Berrien Springs, Mich. to face Andrews for a 4:30 p.m. CST match.
