Peregrines Claim 4-1 Win over Andrews

BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. - The Purdue University Calumet women's soccer team improved to 6-9 in its inaugural season with a 4-1 victory at Andrews University on Tuesday afternoon.

Briana Badgett opened the scoring with her first collegiate goal off a feed from Vanessa Hernandez, before Maxzine Rossler, assisted by Ellie Rawski, and Kirsten Nirtaut, assisted by Rachel Shmagranoff, also added first half goals to send the Black and Gold into the break with a 3-1 advantage.

Purdue Calumet would push its lead to three, 4-1, with another career first, as Vanessa Martinez found the back of the net for her first collegiate score. The Peregrines posted a 20-12 shot advantage in the match. Nikki Goodeve recorded five saves in her collegiate debut in goal, moving to 1-0 on the year.

The Black and Gold will be back in action this Saturday, October 20, when it hosts Grace Bible at Munster High School for a 1 p.m. kick-off.
