HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest women's soccer team will look to rebound as the Pride travel to Notre Dame, Ind., to take on the Holy Cross College Saints Saturday.
The Pride (4-10, 2-7 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) will take on the Saints (2-13, 0-9 CCAC) in a CCAC match up at Saints Field starting at 1:30 p.m. CT following the men's game.
LAST TIME OUT
PNW is coming off a 4-1 setback to St. Ambrose University, Oct. 18. Freshman Morgan Pickens (Highland, Ind./Highland) connected on the first goal of her collegiate career as Pickens' ball ricocheted high and bounced in to make the score 2-1 in the 52’.
Starting keeper Lucie Ashmore (Greystones, Ireland/St. Gerard’s School) took the loss in goal, recording five saves in the first while. Keeper Kelley Sharp (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) had four saves in the second half.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
The Saints are coming off a 10-0 loss to Trinity International, Oct. 18. HCC are led by Brianna Gonzalez, who has three goals and six points for the Saints.
The Pride lead the all-time series with the Saints, 3-0, with their last meeting being last season where PNW defeated HCC 4-0 at Dowling Park. Junior Tiffani Kotas (Alsip, Ill./Alan B. Shepard) scored in the 50'.
Sharp picked up the win and shutout in goal for PNW as picked up five saves for the Pride.
