HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest women's soccer team will travel to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Calumet St. Joseph as the Pride take on the Crimson Wave for the regular season finale.
The Pride (5-11, 3-8 CCAC) will take on the Crimson Wave (4-13, 3-8 CCAC) at East Chicago Central High School starting at 12 p.m. (CT) Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
PNW dropped a 4-1 decision to Trinity Christian College Wednesday afternoon at Dowling Park. Sophomore Shayna Coy (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Luers) put the Pride on the scoreboard for her third goal of the season as teammate Shelby Ross (Nashville, Ind,/Columbus North) delivered a cross to Coy who connected in front of the box in just the 3’.
Lucie Ashmore (Greystones, Ireland/St. Gerard’s School) took the loss in goal for PNW, recording seven saves.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON WAVE
CCSJ (4-13, 3-8 CCAC) are coming off a 6-1 loss to Trinity International, Oct. 26. The Crimson Wave are led by junior Fatima Garcia, who has three goals and six points.
The Pride and the Crimson Wave are tied in the all-time series, 2-2, with the Crimson Wave winning last season, 6-5. Assistant Coach Kami Graber scored a hat trick, with goals in the '40, 82' and 87' along with Ross, who scored a goal in the '40.
PNW are led by Shayla McNeal (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike), who has six goals and 12 total points. On defense, Ashmore allows 2.10 goals against average and owns a .716 save percentage.
