Pride Season Ends as They Fall to No. 1 Grand Valley State in GLIAC Postseason Tournament

Allendale, Mich. -- The Purdue University Northwest women's soccer team (4-14, 2-7 GLIAC) was defeated in a GLIAC Quarterfinal match Tuesday, 6-1, by the #1 Grand Valley State Lakers (18-0-1, 9-0-0 GLIAC) at GVSU Soccer Field.

The Lakers came out on the attack, as they scored three goals in the first half, including a goal and assist from Darline Radamaker before the first intermission.

The Pride got on the board late as Sydney Hanson (Alma, Mich./Alma Senior) chipped it in the goal off the assist from Haneen Abdulla (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) in the 59th minute.

Riko Sagara and Ava Cook built the lead late as they both scored in the 71st and 72nd minute respectively, connecting on the final two goals of the match as the Lakers earned the 6-1 victory.

Senior Kelley Sharp (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) got the start in goal and made six saves in 45 minutes of action. Freshmen Halle Stork (Stanwood, Mich./Big Rapids) finished the second half off with three saves in 45 minutes of play.

The Pride earned a trip to the GLIAC Postseason Tournament for the first time in program history and look to build off this for next season.
