NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Purdue University Calumet women's tennis team dropped its season opener on Wednesday afternoon, falling to North Central College, 6-3. NCC improves to 4-1 on the year, while the Black and Gold slide to 0-1.

The Peregrines picked up two wins in singles play, as freshmen Lori Haas and Amber Haworth each recorded victories. Haas cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Miranda Grizaffi in No. 1 singles, while Haworth escaped with a 6-2, 7-6 victory in No. 3 singles.
