HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest women's tennis team hosts Illinois-Springfield at the Park Forest Tennis and Health Club Saturday.
The Prairie Stars (5-1) take on the Pride (3-11) at Park Forest Tennis Club in Park Forest, Illinois, Saturday.

The Purdue University Northwest women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to visiting Olivet Nazarene at the Park Forest Tennis and Health Club Saturday.
Freshman Kelli Canul (Munster, Ind./Munster) won a singles match by defeating Olivet’s Grace Matheis with a score of 6-2 in the first set, and finishing it off with 6-1 victory in the second.
Olivet jumped out to an early lead by starting off 5-0 in singles competition. Junior Carolina Yepez (Guayaquil, Ecuador) was able to win 4 games against Jovana Parlic (ONU) but Parlic picked it up and ended up finishing the set 6-4 and Parlic won the second set with a score of 6-3. Giulia Castigloni (Lugano, Switzerland) won four games in the first set at No. 3 singles and three in the second but ONU's Dana Huck won the match, 6-4, 6-3.
Lena van Bergen (Wesel, Germany) won two games in the first set but ONU's Tarranum Handa picked up the victory, 6-2, 6-0. Patricia Dizon (Arlington Heights, Ill./St. Viator) picked up a game in the opening set and three in the second but Susana Andres won at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-3.
SCOUTING THE PRAIRIE STARS
UIS will be coming off a match against Hillsdale March 1. The Prairie Stars are led by Ashley Long, who is 5-3 in singles competition and 5-1 in doubles.
Saturday marks the first-ever meeting between both programs.
